Hanging loose from the ignition switch is a short length (about 3 ins.) of purple and black(PB) cable with a bullet snap connector on the end into which there is a short length of black cable connected. There is what looks to have been a ring terminal on the end of the black cable. This does not look like a PO addition.
The wiring diagram shows a PB cable going to earth from the horn relay via the horn push but the horns work without my cable being connected to earth.
Has anyone got any ideas what this cabling is for? The car is 1971 British spec. RHD manual, no electric aerial, no aircon, no buzzers etc.

#2 Re: Wiring
The seat belt warning system checks to see whether a key is in the ignition by providing a path to earth when an ignition key is inserted. (It then also checks to see whether someone is sitting in the driver and/or passenger seats and acts accordingly.)

Thanks for that Marek. I do not have a Seat Belt Warning System so I will ignore the cables and tie them back out ofthe way.
