#1 scuttle casing assembly under the dash

Post by ysmalkie » Sun Jan 24, 2021 4:03 pm

Would anyone have a photo of the under the dash casing aluminum panels?

Mine look very crude and I was wondering if this was the way they looked like originally.

Also, mine have cut outs for the dash end mount - is it original?

The SNG panels look similar, but one of them has an unusual cutout not present on mine:

Hi tadek,

The SNG is a left hand drive one.
I think you are RHD. By memory your's are similar to my RHD

But mine is a US car, definitely a LHD :-)

My very early 4.2 FHC had the alloy underdash panels, and they were fairly crude as I recall.

Tadek

My under dash panels are also crudely cut aluminium. I strongly suspect mine are also original to my November 61 OTS.

I took a photograph of the ones that are presently removed from my LHD (US delivered) car. Cannot guarantee these are original, but that's what came with the car.

A few extra holes from the PO are visible from this side, but when the panels were recovered with vinyl, only the original holes were kept, and the others covered.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Jan,

Same holes as on mine. They must be original.

So, the SNG pattern is wrong.
