Bonnet wiring mount position on car S1 4.2
#1 Bonnet wiring mount position on car S1 4.2
H. I need to know where to mount the (I think) socket to the front frame and I cannot seem to find any reference to its position . I also need the heater and choke controls on the dashboard . Do the LHD cars use the same parts so I can widen the search .

Re the bonnet wiring point...... The eight pin bonnet socket has a three bolt fixing plate which, in turn, is bolted to the Left Hand Headlamp Panel (this panel has an extra three fixing holes on it than the right hand panel). The connecting plug and cable is then loosely tied (normally with a flexible harness strap) towards the top of the lower nearside downleg of the bonnet support frame. Finally, there is a curved clip that is attached at the bottom of the bonnet balance link which holds the cable in place at the back of the lower bonnet valance.

Both LHD & RHD cars have the choke control to the right of the centre instrument panel and the heater controls to the left of it. Therefore all parts are the same.
I think they are available from all the usual suppliers.
