Hi. Does anyone have any recommendations for car covers for a Series 1 2+2 1967. The car will be garaged. Many thanks. Paul

Seasoned listers may recall my car (same as yours) rests under old candlewick bedspreads when in the garage. I could have used old sheets for example winceyette or cotton.

Outdoors I use this.

It wasnt expensive and although it fits, it wasn't taylored for an E-Type. It was a cheapie from Halfords.

I am not in favour of car covers indoors. Cloth ones tend to get damp unless the garage is dehumidified, and this promotes microblistering . Equally artificial materials tend to promote condensation with similar possible consequences, unless you use a carcoon or similar, and even then some users are not very happy about them

My covers (the previously mentioned bedspreads) are simply loose dust covers. They have covered my cars for over 40 years (three different cars) in both dehumidified and normal atmosphere garages. Not experienced any of these issues. YMMV.

I’m a big fan of Cover Craft Form Fit indoor covers:

Chrisfell : I think a possible difference between our experience is that you live in a fairly if not very dry area of the UK, whereas I am in an area which a. is only 1 mile form the sea and b. tends to be warm ( relatively speaking) and humid in winter . I have never actually calculated the RH, but a friend with a dehumidifier can take away 10 or 12 pints in a day from his garage

Whist I wouldn’t call this part of SW England dry, we get about a metre of rain a year, it does benefit from being a long way from the sea. My car would unzip in permanent salty air, cover or no.

Ignoring the pro's and con's debate, the soft indoor covers from Classic Additions are popular with a few car storage companies that I know of.

I also use a Classic Additions cover outside. The only thing I would highlight is that, after three years, the top surface gets a bit friable. We had a fox attack ours and the top surface layer of material easily separated away from base (in long strips!)

I hope not, mine is the £450 one. I got it as a present and hope it lasts longer than that

I was thinking of paying £120 plus for a new indoor cover, the union jack cover above is fab…but…Reading Auto express reviews of indoor and outdoor covers, the best value indoor was Cosmos, available from Amazon, i just bought it in green for only £31 , i dont think you can go wrong with a recommendation like that and at that price.

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product-g ... overs-2022

unlike my heavy thick outdoor/indoor cover this one is very light and so its really a dust cover, i love it

I’ve had good results with a breathable, weather‑resistant cover that fits snugly around the bodywork. It keeps moisture off and stops scratches, which really helps keep the paint looking fresh.
