Much worse, actually. I’ve been taking the bumpers off to send away for re-chroming. All had been going quite smoothly for I had liberally sprayed each fitting to help free them. But one nut on the rear bumpers decided to be awkward for despite that liberal application of oil the nut stayed solid on the bolt and the rivets holding the back plate to the car broke with little force used.
Fortunately it was the one on the right, hence the phew! I could get a socket on the bolt head and with help outside the car free the nut and remove both parts.
I can’t imagine the strong language

that would have been heard around the village if it had been the left one and the half full fuel tank had needed removing. Argh!!!!
Some tasks can be very frustrating and take an extraordinary long time to complete what should be a quick job. I’m so very grateful this one was not as bad as it could have been.
