#1 Soft top question

Post by No Quarter » Sun Nov 09, 2025 8:43 pm

...or hood or convertible top? On my 64 the old top is in really bad shape, though the scaffolding looks fine. I'm going to need the soft material. I was given a BAS set H407, but reading the material it says it's for 69-71. What's the difference to the correct 64 one, some vendors have only one version, some talk about material in back window, some books talk about hinges/latches changing?

Working on a soft top is new to me (since my first car, a Spitfire MkIII), so any links to pdf etc is welcome

Thanks
Mikael

I am sorry I dont know part numbers, but I can say that the series 1 hoods were covered in mohair. My recommendation would be to speak with BAS Jaguar Trim supplies in the UK as they will send to you samples I am sure. They supply the vast number of trimmers with material and will no for sure what the correct material is?

Admin or whoever, can you tell me why I don't get an email anymore when someone posts on my question? "Notify me when reply is posted" has tickmark

Was my reply to your question OK?......have you changed your email since you first registered?..is your correct email address in your profile? have you checked your spam folder?..have you blocked pop ups from this site?......please dont ask me technical details for that you will need to contact the site Administrator (Heuer).

Steve, your answer was fine, but I have to do as you suggest, go to that website, check it out, not done yet.

My email is mh@pc.dk, not changed. I do check spam, not there either. Pop ups, I don't know, not deliberately...
The emails have worked flawlessly until this and my previous post. And I hate people taking the time to answer me, and I don't respond...
