Underbody Protection problem

Hi all,

Need your help here guys - don't quite know which way to go with this one.

My car was fully restored back in 94 and was painted old english white over stone chip underneath wheel arches, boot floor, front wheel arches etc - No black paint or black under seal anywhere. The white paint has subsequently been covered in clear waxoyl which has of course a yellow tinge to it - looks a bit messy if I'm honest. Need it cavity wax injected again and probably will go with Dinitrol.

Question - Dinitrol do a black wax for the underbody areas that I am told dries to a silk sheen and would look better than my current waxoyl - but will my car then look as though its been messed with and do I apply this to the wheel arches and under the rear boot floor area? Or is it best to leave it as it is which does look more original - don't wish to devalue the car but want to ensure that it is fully protected - Of course the white does get very dirty even if I just use the car on dry roads. The tyres kick up dust and it is very difficult to clean underneath so perhaps black dinitrol would be more serviceable?

Any views before I proceed will be most welcome. :?

I'm pretty sure that the cars were all undersealed from new. Mine certainly were and were both exported to California, so I'd guess that the UK cars must have been.

I think that the matt or satin black in the wheel arches looks right...these are areas that really weren't meant to be seen, and being restored to body colour just looks wrong to me...too distracting for the lines of the car, and the footwell 'bulge' would also show when looking at the side of the car.

When my S3 was painted by Alan Proctor, he suggested that the underfloor and arches were re-done in 'factory black'. He has restord many Jaguars for the JDHT...he knows his stuff!
