hi I've been putting the e type back together and can't find what goes here there is 3 holes for something any idea

The two holes nearest the poppet (together with it) hold velcro strips which mate with the convertible top. The hole towards the back of the car shouldn't be there.

There are plenty of pictures on xkedata.com and elsewhere on the web.
