Anybody know if an E Type could be purchased/ordered in the '60's with triple Webers as opposed to triple SU's. In other words could triple Webers be considered an "option"? I'm aware that the competition department did ship some cars to customers with Webers but can't find confirmation of that in writing. Need it for my insurance company.

Yes - if you were one of the lucky 12 who got their hands on a factory Lightweight otherwise no, Webers were not an 'option' so suggest you declare the car as 'modified'. I doubt it will make any difference to your premium but it could make a big difference if you were ever to file a claim. Does not bear thinking about if they refused to pay!
