My 4.2 engine was rebuilt recently and is currently running with running in oil. It will apparently need changing within the next 1000 miles and I'm pondering on which oil I should put in when I change it.
Any recommendations advice would be welcome.

I buy 20w/50 mineral oil usually from the likes of Comma, Silkolene, Lucas, Morris or Halfords - depends on what is available locally when I need it. I change the oil and filter once a year anyway because of the mileage I do but I have not found any oil better than the other. I have also used semi-synthetic without problems and when I am on the road I will put in a litre of anything I can find!
