#1 Distributor leads placement

Post by vipergts » Tue Mar 11, 2014 9:06 pm

Can someone confirm whether no' 1 cylinder lead plugs into the cap at 11 oclock.......12 oclock being the tab that holds the cap on nearest the engine block?

Hope that makes sense

From your description it should be at 12 oclock.

Sometimes if the engine is reassembled incorrectly though the distributor drive can be put on out of sync. See the third last picture at http://www.projectetype.com/index.php/t ... 6-eb2.html for explanation.

Thanks

My distributor is quite different from yours in so much as the clips go between contact points.
Thanks
