#1 Car values

Post by david muir » Tue Jul 08, 2014 9:31 am

Re car values discussed on another thread (?cheap OTS).........how does one keep the insured value up-to-date in these times of escalating prices/values?
Are the JEC values regarded as an accurate guide?

I had mine valued recently by Philip Porter (free service to e-type club members) - just sent in recent photos and a description of condition and work done during restoration and got a valuation letter back a couple of days later.

I'm insured with Carole Nash who seem to take a more relaxed view of valuation than some previous insurers and who will basically accept your valuation if its not too silly.

Just to confirm that we do not give valuations. This would involve visiting, viewing, researching and driving a car, for which we simply don't have the resources.
What we offer though is confirmation of a value given to us by the owner, unless we consider that the value is completely unrealistic.
