Mangoletsi throttle fitting

I'm following the instructions, I have fitted the jig plate and am trying to connect the rear rose jointed rod. I can get it onto the SU bar fine but I can't get the bolt through at the top as there isn't enough clearance between the outer slot on the arm and the aluminium billet bracket. Unfortunately the photo's in the instruction booklet were taken on a mockup, they don't have the billet bracket to contend with, how have others found this? The cross shaft is locked so the arms have no movement available, any ideas where I have gone wrong?

I had to fit the rose joints without the jig in the end, there was just no way I could get the bolts in. I then tightened up at the SU rod end and the length of the rear rod is fixed anyway. Having emailed John Mangoletsi last night, he kindly called me just as I had finished installing the kit, he's a very interesting chap and he was telling me about recent developments in the fuel injections space for our cars.

I have got the car running now, I still need to fine tune the throttle adjustments and the car is idling high but I can already tell that it is much more responsive than before. In this case I have fitted reconditioned carbs (David Lonsdale) and the throttle kit at the same time so some credit has to go to each, I have also fitted an ITG filter in the canister so thanks to David Jones too for that idea.
