Hi All,
Am in the process of stripping down the IRS and differential in my 1967 S1 2+2. The differential is stamped A67 and 4898, which I assume is a serial number, and has a plate with 46/13 attached, which I assume is a 3.54:1 ratio.....being ex USA sounds correct. So far so good.....
Where I am getting a bit confused is that the Forum Technical Information Section has a Service Manual on the Dana Spicer Powr-Lok, whereas the Jaguar Service Manual I have refers to a Thornton Powr-Lok..
Are these one and the same thing.....?
Best regards,
Norman.

Thornton is a 'type' (the inventor company IIRC) Dana Spicer/Salisbury is seller/ maker.
Like buying a FWD hatchback from more than one company. Apart from which the power drive industry consolidated over the years as various companies were bought and sold. Same as ZF includes Sachs, Lemfoerder, Boge, ZF etc.
