#1 Rear Light Screw Size

Post by PhilM » Tue Feb 02, 2016 3:01 am

This might sound a simple question but I am struggling to find the correct machine screw for the rear lights to fix to the body.

They are not in the SNG parts book and I didn't get the required advice when I called them up. So, can anyone point me in the right direction please with the answer or a part number or reseller I can approach.

Little things can be so frustrating.

My car has three screw sizes securing my rear lights to the body. One of them is a self tapper which has been graunched in place, presumably when the original fitting was cross threaded with a metric threaded screw (not the only one on my car).

Sounds like my car, odd screws everywhere. I think the only correct screws are the ones fitted by Angus. Most of the others don't even have the screw slots lined up in an aesthetically pleasing manner !

Thank you for all your replies.

Not surprising really, might even have to tap the threads out, we will see.

I have a 65 ordered in Italy. Euro lenses and it's a very original car mechanically (repaint). It had posi-drive screws throughout all the lenses. They were quite old and appeared completely original. My 70 OTS had regular head but don't think they were original. They were all 10-34. I had to dig a bit but SNG in the US came up with a few spares...
