Anyone seen this before?

Trying to separate this radius arm from the wishbone, believed to be circa 1968/69?

The part books show it as a bolt.

It is definitely a stud not a bolt, which begs the question, is it slotted into the wishbone like a wheel stud or screwed into the wishbone like a head stud? Do I drift it out or double-nut it?

It is certainly not like the wishbone setup on my other Series 2.

Hi
Interesting
It’s actually a socking great set screw with a shallow hexagonal head which interference fits, countersunk into a circular hole. They often rust in place. It’s hard to drift out because the bar that takes the shock absorber Mount is in the way!
I used heat and a placed a thick metal bar between the shock mount and the screw, having put a nit on it. Then undid the nut thereby pushing the screw through
I believe they changed it at Jaguar at some point applying a lock tab to it and reversing the way it went in
Remember to attach this BEFORE putting the shocker on whe reassembling it otherwise there won’t be room
Good luck
Robbie

Thankyou gentlemen.

So they passed the threaded section through, then pressed it in to the wishbone.

So it is removed by unwinding a nut against the lower shock mount with a spacer.

I see, thanks very much again.

:yeahthat: and I soaked mine with Plus Gas for a couple of days beforehand and that probably helped. And naturally I fitted the shocks first on reassembly so had to take them off again :scratchheadyellow: :banghead:
