#1 Notched washers for wiper motor mounting

Post by rdaustin » Sat Aug 01, 2026 5:13 pm

Just re-assembling the wiper motor / mounting plate. We have the 3 rubber grommets and 6 washers, 3 of which have small notches cut out of them. Does anyone know why and where they should therefore be fitted? I assume there's a washer each side of the mounting plate, but don't know where the notched vs non-notched washers go relative to one another, or where each notch should be relative to the mounting plate (eg at 3 o'c clock, 9 o'clock or....?.

(Yes, am learning the hard way about not taking enough photos during dismantling).

Also, we only have 2 of the 3 cheese head bolts that secure the mounting plate to the motor - does anyone know the part number? Can't find anything on the usuals...

Thanks
Rebecca

Hi there
Good idea re: signature - now done.

I don't have the parts catalogue I'm afraid, so can't find the screw part #.

Have tried trial-fitting the mounting plate and motor together, putting a washer either side of the grommet, and cannot see why and where the notch would need to be.

Any insights welcome
Thanks

Do you have a parts catalogue from SNG Barratt? Almost every part is shown in there, ok some little items like these may not be shown, but it is a very useful guide to how parts are assembled and how many parts are needed with their parts numbers shown.
