Paul (assuming you addressed this to the forum :? ) use correctly mixed antifreeze. Fill the expansion tank to the brim. When you run the car, it will find its own level by expelling it through the top of the radiator. (You have to have room in the tank for the water to expand into).

Dear David,

Sorry I wanted to write to you, who could imagine another forum.
Do you mean I must fill the metal expansion bowl to the brim or the radiator itself.

Merci
Paul :D

Paul, the only place to fill on your car should be via the tank on top of the radiator (the expansion tank). Fill this to the brim.

ok, here is what you do:

1. Engine should not be running
2. Remove cap from expansion tank (rectangular shaped tank on top of radiator) when engine cold.
3. Fill to overflowing or brim (doesn't matter as excess will be automatically ejected when engine is hot).
4. Replace cap.
5. Start engine and let idle (or drive it) until at operating temperature.
6. Switch off - at this point you will see the excess water being ejected via the small hose near the radiator cap.

That should be it. Run the car to make sure the temperature is correct.

Paul

It was not me who answered - it was another Forum member called Angus. No need to post questions to me directly as there are a lot of other folks here who know more about these cars than I do!

Dear David,

Ok well understood but it seems you sleep & eat with the Forum or in the
boot of your lovely car.

That's because I have to maintain and administer the Forum as well as answer the odd post.
