#1 Headlight trim series1 2+2 covered headlight

Post by Spark » Tue Dec 20, 2016 8:24 pm

Hi
Refitting headlights to bonnet
I have fitted the chrome trim which secures the lamp to the bowl
My question is should I now be fitting a further chrome trim over this and if so how are they secured
I do have two which came with the car in a box of parts

If they are to be fitted then how are they secured on as also I will need to refit bonnet first and set up headlights before fitting as the trim would cower the adjusting screws

Probably a simple one but search didn't show any pics
Any pics of help please

Thanks
Phil

If you have covered headlights the wide chrome finisher trim is not fitted.

If you have open headlights (S1 1/2 onwards) the trim is just a firm push fit. There is probably a little locating tab on the bowl. There may be a single screw hole in the trim to secure it. It's been a while since I did this on an open headlight E Type so my recollections are a little vague.
