#21 Re: Dashboard mirror bar
And I believe the triangle wedge-shaped filler plate (between mirror pedestal and roof structure) was either introduced or changed with the arrival of the 2+2 in 1966. The OP could try a 2+2 wedge, or may be missing one altogether and therefore losing correct rear view orientation?

Not quite Pete - the wedge filler was introduced on all FHC and 2+2 cars in 1963. Previously unobtainable but Richard Smith has reproduced it:
Part C20698 the angled aluminium packer on the mounting of the interior mirror and fitted to all S1 FHC (and 2+2) cars from 861057/888067 - early 1963 onwards.

Thanks David. I knew they were a modification and weren’t fitted from day one. Presumably Norman felt in his ‘view’ nothing was amiss!
Since you mentioned it twice though, let the record state that there were no 2+2s until three years after 1963. :-)
