#1 Soft top pictures

Post by Grant » Tue Apr 09, 2019 6:20 pm

Hi All

I’m just trying to recover my soft top would someone be kind enough to take and post a picture of theirs with the roof up ?
I’m trying to line up the side of the roof with the top of the frame above the side window if that makes sense.
All the ones I can find on line are taken from an angle , can I have one square on please.

Many thanks in advance

Grant .

Hi Grant
Common problem I think and not always as straight forward as first appears. If you get access to the following book it has a good description of what is involved together with part numbers of shims needed. It is not a quick task but requires that the hood has been fitted and shimmed correctly to begin with, but this book (sometimes available in the local library) will provide most of the information required to get the gaps right. There are other books but this has proved invaluable to me. You can see some of its content on the Net if you do a little searching, part of which I found was on the soft top itself.

Hope it goes well
Tony

Grant:

I'll be happy to send you photos of the soft top on my '64 E-type...just tell me exactly what you are looking for...exterior shots, interior shots, etc.
