My e type was riding too low with the exhaust frequrntly bottoming . After investigation it eas discovered that the distance from the lower front suspension to the ground was much less than the workshop manual recommended height of 9 inches.
They then adjusted the position using the bar gauge measurements as per the manual and we now find the car sitting much too high on the front , probably about 10.5 inches to the lower suspension,
We have manually reduced the 2 points on the buy about 1.5 inches and find the ride to still be a little high ,
WHY ? What have the workshop been doing incorrectly .
Looking a various photos of e types , it seems that they are all very different . Does anybofy knoe the actual factory ride height from the floor to the top of the aperture on the front wing ?

Hi...Whats your name...please try to put it with your car model in the signature area...it will help when you ask questions......what model do you have there are different setting link lenghts depending on model....Your workshop are not setting your ride height correctly....I could understand it sitting lower after setting (weak torsion bars) but no way could it sit higher.....the factory ride height measurements are all done from the suspension and not the body....Steve

Hi Ken....for your model assuming you dont have air con the setting link should be 45.16 cm for a lhd and 45.6 for a rhd....the ride height is given as 9in min ...tyre/wheel size will affect ride height..... read up the setting procedure in the service manual and question your workshop....Steve

Hi Steve
They have used the manual and the measurements .
However they have now fiddled with it and the ride height is correct at 8.5 inches as the car is running on 265/65 tyres . In due course i will go to 205/70 which shold ten give me 9 inch ride height
