To many this is probably an obvious question. Having four of these on the series 3 and knowing they have to be checked regularly I do just that. The level always seems to need topping up. Is this normal and where does all that oil go? If the level is low what is the effect on the running. Do they need a service kit?

Thanks for the help. I'm guessing that seals and diaphragms would do the job but not sure if I can just replace them without the need to retune afterwards. I know I can buy a service kit containing many parts which unless really necessary I wont use so is it possible to purchase diaphragms, piston seals and gasket only?

Try here: http://www.stromberg-carburetors.com/st ... online.htm or http://www.gowerlee.dircon.co.uk/Stromberg.html or http://www.carburettorspecialists.com/products.htm

Bear in mind Stromberg's were factory set and there is little scope for adjustment. It is very difficult to even find Stromberg servicing information as they suggested sending back to the factory for overhaul.
