Wonder if anyone can advise why both my speedometer and odometer do not work on my 72 S3 E type.

Thank you
Tony

The most likely cause is that the speedo cable has failed. Another possibility is that the angle drive where the cable comes out of the gearbox ( RHS of box ) is broken

Found that the problem is the speedometer transducer mounted at the back of the speedometer gauge which is not spinning or jammed inside.

Appreciate any advice on where this can be repaired or purchased.

Thank you
Tony

You mean the right angled little gearbox mounted on to the back of the speedometer itself, I presume.

Check that the speedo turns freely without this fitted.

You can check the right angled little gearbox itself with a small screwdriver or square rod. It should turn 1:1 one way and possibly the other - (it may have a ratchet inside).

It may be that the end of the speedo cable is rounded off.

The part itself will be common to all Jaguar cars which have the steering wheel on the same side as you have. I might even have a few sitting in the loft somewhere if I can find them.

kind regards
Marek

Speedograph Richfield have fixed all my gauges over the years including speedo's and new guts in the rev counter.
