I don't think I'll get the ?300 limited edition either....I'm sure that the pictures inside are just the same!

Here's another new E type book which will be out towards the end of the year I believe. This is the one that my Coupe was photographed for, but not sure what, if anything, will find it's way into there. The seat belt buckle on the front cover does look like mine though!!

Sadly, the blurb and date were put out without me knowing, based on a tentative completion date a few months ago. Various family and facilities hassles conspired to cause some slippage and it's still not quite complete. My guess would be May for availability. I think Amazon had it as March. Not sure who said Feb - haven't actually looked at any blurbs.

#12 Thinking of writing a book

Post by Tony » Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:17 am

I have had my E Type for about 6 months now and was thinking of writing a book based on my vast knowledge. I have started on the chapters.

Chapter 1 - Washing it
Chapter 2 - Polishing it
Chapter 3 - Drive it
Chapter 4 - Washing it
Chapter 5 - Polishing it
Chapter 6 - Put in back in the garage
Chapter 7 - Stare at it with spanners in hand with nothing to do, half wishing it might go wrong a just a little bit, so I can play with it.

I am taking pre-orders now, so avoid the rush.

"all orders will start being despatched tomorrow. As your copy is Airmail please do allow about 7 days for delivery."

Mine has just arrived. Brief look shows it as most definitely a 'coffee table' book with lots of very large pictures and little text. Nice miniature E-Type launch brochure in there though but no unseen period pictures. Read it cover to cover in 15 minutes so there is little detail. Not sure how Jay Leno (and his pimped ride) got in there with so many other people I would like to have heard from. Nice book to own I suppose but a bit of a missed opportunity for Jaguar.

More appropriate title might be 'E-Type Jaguar - Graphic Designers Gone Mad'.

If you have a chassis number between 1E50262 and 1E50280 you will be delighted as there is a page from the Car Record Book detailing your car's build. Oddly there is only one picture of 9600 HP although 77 RW is featured.
