#1 Recover Facia Panels?

Post by mxke » Tue Mar 15, 2022 12:57 am

The covers on the speedo/tach facia and the glovebox facia have come loose.
Do I try to reglue or replace the vinyl covering?
If replace, where does one locate a suitable material?
Thanks in advance.

I re-glued mine with good success. I completely (and carefully) peeled off the original material and cleaned both the vinyl and and metal pieces before using 3M 77 spray adhesive.

The material covering the consoles is a thin plastic that is NLA.

If you can reglue what you have it is preferable to recovering it in vinyl which is much thicker.

Yep. Had mine recovered in vinyl, the thickness is an issue with the glove box lid.

After you have re-glued the covering give it a wipe over, with of all things!! WD40

Comes up very nicely on mine.
