#1 Speedo Cable through the bulkhead

Post by ChrisC » Sun Apr 10, 2011 11:17 am

Folks,

Can anyone tell me which bulkhead hole the speedo cable goes through?

Is it the one next to the steering column or the one on the side of the transmission tunnel?

Thanks

It's the largish one directly behind the, err, speedo in the bulkhead.

There are always two for LHD/RHD with a blanking grommet for the unused one. Any number of pics on xkedata.com.

thanks Peter but a little more information would help. I have 4 holes "behind the speedo" in the bulkhead 3 of which are "largish".

Would some kind person pop out to their car and let me know which one of the following it is?

1. at the top of the bulkhead above the steering column
2. slightly to the left of the steering column
3. slightly to the right of the steering column (and on the same panel)
4. on the transmission tunnel

thanks Andrew. So what is the cable coming out slightly to the right of the steering column? Is that the choke cable?

Thanks

Chris

Not sure if it will help but have a look at the LHD to RHD conversion guides in the Knowledge Base as there are a lot of photos detailing the bulkhead, for obvious reasons. http://etypeuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1664

Great thanks Andrew. That removes one of the options through the bulkhead.
