#1 Parking wipers
On my series 1.5 the wipers (triple) won’t seem to park in the rest position. I need to time the switch when they seem to be in the park position. However, when driving it takes concentration away from looking at the road. Does anyone know what component (if any) controls the parking of the wipers at the correct position.

Deryk, have you tried the search function? I put in wiper and got over 1000 hits, but then searched within the results for parking and it came out to a more manageable circa 139. Quite a few seemed to have useful answers. Please have a try and look through the results. I couldn’t answer your question off the top of my head, but, hopefully the answer you need will be there. It’s a very useful function.

#4 Re: Parking wipers
I have a similar problem, my wipers are not parking, so I took a look at the wiring diagram and found there are a pair of green/red wires that control parking and that go to fuse 5 (from memory) and these were not connected. So i reattached them and…..the wipers wouldn’t turn off at all.
I’ve got quite a lot of electrical gremlins to resolve, but other jobs to finish on the car first.

In earlier cars, the parking mechanism is a copper contact on the centre of the rack, visible when you drop your centre console down. You may actually have the adjuster knob inside the engine bay, on the LHD firewall.
With the S1 1/2 the parking mechanism is inside the motor.
Have a read through this. It may be helpful.
