OBL prices are insane

Gooding & Co are offering two OBL E-types, one coupe, one roadster, at their August Pebble Beach auction.
Now I understand that it’s Pebble Beach, where prices are always higher than the market in general. I also understand that auction estimates are often wishful thinking on the part of the auction house, but a $600,000-700,000 estimate for the FHC and a $500,000-600,000 estimate for the OTS seem wildly optimistic in my mind.

At that price I would hope the bonnet would fit better than the coupe currently shows….

Might have taken five minutes to align the wipers on the FHC correctly too......



And I'm trying to decide whether the wonky over-riders are cack-handed or someone's attempt to be 'factory original'.....

still not for me, but at €385.000, this OBL-OTS seems a bargain in comparison
