Submerged Fuel Pump

Hi,

I hope someone can help me !

I have a 3.8 S1 E-Type with a submerged fuel pump that needs replacing (I want to keep this original setup)

SNG Barratts offers a modern solid state submerged pump to replace the old style pump (Part No: C19919*) I wonder if anyone has any experiences with this type of pump? All views welcomed.

I bought the SNGB modern submerged fuel pump about 6 years ago and have done over 10,000 miles with it and can report no problems at all. My car is positive earth and it works perfectly.

Having not got around to my fuel pump as of yet, can I assume it is not worth trying to rebuild the original units on these early 3.8 cars?

I rebuilt mine with new copper/carbon bushes but as soon as I found out there was a more reliable unit on the market I swapped to that. My original is fully rebuilt and with all the parts that have been removed from my car.

The SNGB submerged unit is the same as the one used on the XJ something or whatever model Jaguar are now producing it just has a modified plate to fit our tank and looks exactly the same from the outside as the original.
