Looking good Joey. That E type of yours is fantastic. Dont forget the engine goes backwards and forward quite a lot on an E type, useful to know for fitting the reaction plate.

I was thinking of you the other day in France.

Loads of GT40s at the Le Mans Classic. The 2005 ish ones look good value in the US @ around $300k, however import duty and VAT for UK import is a KILLER.

I want one. Need to get the money!

All of my questions answered as long as the car is in line
Im going to massage the crossmember on wednesday.
Next the eight bolt is deleted for clearance.
Speedo cable is a toss up before or after........
Grease spline and pilot bush tip with GRAPHOGEN, Anyone use anything else?

Tonite we are jumping on the actual transmission!!!!
Got my questions answered so hold on tight till tonite!
We can assemble the bell housing and show what is needed

Let’s do it…..
The transmission is completely converted with the exception of fluid.
Let’s review
The bell housing is used from my original 4.2.
The inner dust seal is removed as per Guy Broad.
Once punched out , raise the base of the unit and the old bellhousing just slides over the unit which had studs installed.
It’s very clean and neat!
NO in between gasket is needed between the casing and bellhousing because this is a sealed unit.
Next comes the clutch fork.
I personally waterproof grease the shaft and mark it so when you tap it back in it lines up with the lock in Allen key stud! It then has a lock nut and washer to keep in place.

I took shot of pin NOT lined up look close
You turn the pin till you see the hole
Then the stud will screw into the opening
Then use lock nut and washer!

Just got home….
The directions say
5 inches wide, 1 inch down and 1 inch back.
The goal here is to make 1 perfect cut, flip it to invert
Weld it nice then bury it in paint and undercoating!
We shall see …. Give me a bit.
