Thanks DWW you need cheerleaders with these projects.
I’m going to shim the Emergency brake for more clearance.
Let everything cure then when I come back from Hershey Friday, Saturday I will put a 100 miles on it to make sure there is absolutely no clearance issues then massage the transmission cover.
Pics to follow on the shims
It’s pouring rain so I’m leaving for Hershey at 9am not 5 👍🏾

That’s Gary Bartlett’s Mustang Shelby
We were at Amelia Doing the Tv show.
Same Bartlett OSJI or for old times Bartlett Interiors.

As promised …..
Actual stats first then the usual
1. It transforms the car!
4.2 with triple su”s , Michelin 205/60/15 and a 307 rear
50 in 4Th is still 2,000 rpm
Once in 5th your at 1,500ish
YOU cannot Dog it in 5th at 50 it’s too low
But just to see the numbers
60 is 1750/1850ish
70 is 2100/2200ish
I did 135 miles today and as the miles added up the box got quieter and quieter .
You need to bed the gears in!
The pleasure is 3rd and 4th they are very long and there is no need for 5th until you have to go on the highway
!
90 was still under 3,000 rpm!
You need to let the WHOLE thing bed in
The AP clutch they use is soooo smooth and softer on the pedal them the usuals, it’s nice.
There is NO drone or vibration at 60/70/80
It wonderful
Still have the cover to contend with
Will report back
Overall if your a driver it’s worth it!
If you never drive leave the stock either way modern traffic is so dangerous and fast.
More to come😀

Don’t forget my speedo is 10 miles an hour off because originally going with a 2.88 rear

Use your mobile phone Joey to get a reliable speed indication. I swear by Waze (now owned by Google) as it provides immediate crowd sourced information on road hazards such as pot holes and Police presence. Speed measurement is very accurate unless you are rapidly climbing or descending.

That’s exactly what I use….
All I need now is a new 307 speedo
I would use a digital but I have the EZ steering

Onto the cover and then the console!
There are 3 spots to deal with
1 top triangle
2 shift lever arm
3 the reverse switch hits the top plate
I’m driving a bit more for the mounts to settle down
Pics to follow

Guys I have to apologize !
I woke up early after church and just did another 35 miles
So that almost 309 miles since the install.
I revise my thoughts…..
It’s Un “F” ing Great!!
I’m calling Guy Broad tomorrow , 3rd and 4th stretch out sooooo long that your never in 5 th till your on the highway.
It’s DEAD quiet now , No smells and you can bring the car down to 20 mph in 4Th and it doesn’t chug or bounce
Insulation next the the cover
Got some ideas!
If your a DRIVER it’s a must!
Dare I say 1st gear is better than the t5 box and not as short?
Anyone else feel that?
Woooooonderful day and drive!
Cover next

I find that from around the 40mph cruising, 5th gears becomes effective. Town driving rarely takes me over 4th gear, I think that is the way it should be.

Onto the cover
It looks ugly but once sealed and covered more to come
You need to cut these areas
I used very thin aluminum and will seal it on Monday
I used dum dum for sealing and fumes just to test
Enjoy

DWW
I’m calling Broad tomorrow.
I’m interested in the gear ratios
As you around town 3rd gear is all you need
4th is great but then 5 th goes on forever
Do they make the shift stick in chrome like the original?
