Dear All,
Everything seems ok, Now Oil reading is 2/3 up the sctratched part of the stick. I have straitened it & now quite smooth. I would never have guessed. Had a Super Classic car meet yesterday morning, about 100 Cars of all kinds & 1 other E Type & a very poor XK150S. I learn things each time, I Saw 2 Hotchkis Cars of 1949, I thought it was a American Brand but its not its Frog made

Paul. If the level of oil in your engine is at the E on the dipstick then you have far too little oil in the engine. Above the E are two slits on the dipstick, the level should be maintained between these ideally at the higher of the two. You should not allow the level to go below the lower of the two slits. Alan
