Also, is the wood wrapped separately or one piece over metal and wood?

I believe they were all covered in the same way - the wood piece being covered separately to the metal and then bolted together. I just used good quality contact spray adhesive. Are you replacing with new material? Trying to re-use the old material without tearing be a challenge.

Also, you will get a lot more accurate answers if you can put your car model in your signature.

Yes, I will definitely be using new fabric.

Still sanding the old glue/fabric that has hardened over the last 5 decades. I was shocked that my wood pieces as well as the metal is in superb condition! No significant rust or rot. Can only assume this is the original part as I know last 40 yrs of the cars history.

Taking the metal bow to get paint color matched today. Mine seems to have a bluish/green gray color.

My 4.2L 1.5 seems to have it all covered in once piece, while others have said they seemed to be covered separately.

Interesting to see the difference.

Also sourced a SEM paint that is spot on locally at Soto price paint shop.

What is the ringlet hole for. I thought it was to hold down the covetable roof. But cannot work out how it work.

The green (they were always green leather on the S1 cars) hold-down straps pass through the eyelets when the hood is down and attach to the fittings on the rear bulkhead.
