#1 I'm not sure if these are sold in the UK....

Post by JoshuaFoust » Wed Jan 31, 2024 6:54 am

Hello, my present (and soon-to-be-thrown-away) radiator has a Revotec fan attached to the front of it. Because of this, my car's bonnet doesn't have a stone guard. I'm about to put in a new Radtec radiator (Marston style), and I'd like to put a fan on the back so I can put a stoneguard on it. What are the best fans on the market right now? The name Coolcat seems to come up a lot, but I'm not sure if these are sold in the UK, and I'd prefer something I can get my hands on quickly.

Speak to Radtech. They have a fan and shroud that will fit.

Last year I ordered a CoolCat at their website https://www.coolcatcorp.com and it only took 7 days from the day I ordered to the day I received the fan at my address in Denmark.

I am very happy with the CoolCat and can fully recommend it. I was on a trip from Denmark to Italy last summer in the extreme heat we had in Europe at that time. No cooling problems!

As Angus says, just get Radtek to chuck the bits you need in the box. They are well priced.
They also do a good S1 header tank, with brackets and a range of steel and alloy fuel tanks including an option for in-tank hp fuel pumps for fuel injection.
As you say, best to fit the fan behind the radiator.

I have the Radtec Marston rad with Coolcat fan - arrived quickly from the states. Radtec rad is big and needs careful positioning to ensure it’s perfectly central and doesn’t kiss the bonnet. A good combo 👍

I don't see your model in your post but if it's a S1 single fan setup the nice thing about the Coolcat fan is it mounts in the orig fan location-picture frame bracket, fits perfectly within the original shroud, and pulls about the same as original fan's rather low amps.

Many electric radiator fans pull a lot of amps, easily 20 amps.
I think the Coolcats fan advertises 7 amps which is good for the original circuit wiring. And it still pulls good CFM.

I have one and it works great.

It would be helpful, see Layne comment, to add your name and car type to the signature area. Look at your user name top right and click on the down arrow to do that. Also, you have an American flag but you’re in the UK, how about changing that? Again it helps others give appropriate advice and help.
