#1 windscreen trim panel fixing

Post by chris45 » Fri Jun 21, 2024 2:02 pm

I am refitting the windscreen trim panel that is held in place at either end by the two sunvisors.

I have noticed that there are three holes at the centre of the metal roof panel and in the trim panel in the shape of a triangle. I guess this was for the interior mirror. My car's mirror is fixed to the windscreen so the holes do not seem to be required but it means there is no fixing of the trim at the centre.

Can I ask that if you have a similar car (S1.5, 2+2, 1968) would you mind looking to see if there is any sort of fixing in the middle of the trim to hold it in place (eg three screws or some such).
Thanks

Chris,
Interior mirrors aren’t glass mounted. If it’s FHC they mount with the 3 screws through the roof panel, as you point out. OTS have a vertical bar mount for it.

Thanks for the replies. However, I believe that there have been several interior mirror versions over the years and my mirror is glued to the windscreen. It is part C28516.

That's why I'm asking if there is anything to fix the trim on the centre as there is no mirror fixing on my car.
