I have a series 2 FHC which was purchased as a stalled restoration. I got the washer(s) working today except it would appear the lh jet is not connected as it dumped the water on the floor.
I understand that it is a nightmare job. I have looked at various posts but they all vary and some may well relate to 2+2 models which mine is not.
What I would like to know is will I be able to access the area with the dash top removed? The other question is does the dash top come off leaving the glove box behind or must the glove box be removed first?
Just to be clear this has 3 wipers (not a2+2)
Many thanks. Steve

The dash top comes off as one piece leaving the glovebox.
This is what the access is like on a 3.8 roadster:

I took the top dash off recently to recover. take the Radio section totally out of the way it helps when the centre buttons are swung down. Once that's done then its 8 screws and your done. The hardest part is the front window vent tubes when you go to refit them but if you remove the cardboard under the glovebox and speedo you can reach them ok

If it helps anyone this is how I replaced the hoses to the washer jets.
Removed dash top and glove box
Removed speedo and rev counter
Detached hazard flasher unit bracket
Using extra long nose pliers (11") attached hose to lh jet
Moved wipers to other side by switching on ignition and stopping in place where I could see
rh jet then attached through speedo hole
Taped old hoses to new and pulled them through to t piece then trimmed and fitted to t piece.
Pain in the posterior but not impossible for a 71 year old.

When I install the jets I preinstall a couple of feet of hose on the jet and insert this from the outside.
Once the jet is located I thread the wing nut up along the tube. This way you can't drop it and it makes it easier to thread on.

I have done this job the same as the post above.. it’s a real pig of a job as well, I found removing the wiper motor mechanism arm helped as well ..that’s the thin long arm that has a special locking tab that goes over the ball end which provides the movement to the wipers..easy to get off, can be tricky getting that special tab (the like you have never seen before!) on without loosing it in the depths of the bulkhead! Good luck
