Does anyone know of a source for ceramic brake pads in the UK, to fit the later Series 2 and 3 3-pot caliper? I can find the usuals, EBC etc., but I'd like to try specifically ceramics with a view to reducing disc wear from metallic hybrid pads. I think ATE might make some, but it's a nightmare trying to find accurate material descriptions online.
Thanks,
Roger

I thought ceramic pads caused more disc wear unless you uprated the disc as well....Steve

Maybe... not something I've heard of. I would be fitting new TRW cast iron discs at the same time. Might be better to stick with my first option, of Ferodo DS2500 pads?

For a road car I’d avoid ceramic pads, you may find them a bit less stoppy until you get some heat into them

I’d agree with Darryl, as modern cars with ceramic brakes as options or standard fit have the whole system designed for “making progress”. Wide tyres with far greater grip to make use of the enhanced stopping power.
It has been pointed out on here that S2 brakes are more than capable of locking the wheels under heavy braking. Can’t see how ceramic pads or discs can help except on a racing E Type, even then I’d need some convincing.
Just my twopenn’orth

Good advice - I’ve used EBC Redstuff (ceramic) on my Mustang, but switched to Hawk pads for that reason. This application is lighter use than that, as it’s for my touring XK140DHC fitted with BCC 4-pot calipers, which take the same pad size as the Girling 3-pot, on stock 150 non-vented discs.
