#1 Protective sleeve for wiring loom body tags - size & sourcing?

Post by rdaustin » Mon Mar 17, 2025 9:08 am

We are just routing the loom and have some of the original protective sleeves/sheath that slide over the body tags that hold the loom in place. However, they are stiff and brittle so we want to replace them. We think they should be 9.5mm or 3/8" (internal diameter) - does anyone know where we can source these in the UK? We can find 9mm or 10mm ID sleeving, but not 9.5mm. Also, has anyone tried using 9mm - did it work or was it too tight? Thanks! Rebecca

Thanks Andrew. Does the heat from the hot air gun affect the body paint? (We only got the shell back from the painters about 6 weeks ago). All the best, Rebecca

PVC wiring sleeve, this item isn't expensive and different sizes could be ordered just in case, without a piece to hand I would guess the 8mm ID would flatten to the correct size though.

Edit, ahh I see they don't do an in between size from 8 - 10 mm.

Dosnt take much heat to shrink...you can use a soldering iron just sliding along it....try a piece...Steve
