#1 Torpedo armrest screws
My Series 1 2+2 has torpedo-style armrests. I am trying to figure out the correct size screws to fit them - they currently seem to be fitted with a variety of different wood screws...
Does anyone know a source for correct size screws? Thanks.

Hi Simon..have you looked at the parts catalogue for the part number...then check on that....Steve..ps you could remove the door cards and check the threads assuming they arnt damaged...but if someone has used wrong screws the threads could be damaged and need repair

Annoyingly the MR catalogue shows the screws coming with the handle, and doesn't lost the screws separately.
I might just re-tap the threads to M5 which seems to be the closest.

I have a recall that mine were 1/4 unf. I used Allen headed bolts

1/4in definitely too big. Looks like they are just smaller than 5mm...

From experience I'd recommend you use hex heads, or at least Philips head.
A flat head slotted screw can be hard to keep aligned in the recess in the armrest.
