Has anyone ever fitted/adapted a fully synchronized Jaguar MK2 gearbox to replace the Moss gearbox?
Jaguar MK2 1967 since 1980
MGA 1500 roadster 1957 since 1982
Lotus Seven 1963 since 2015
XKE S1 1964 OTS since 2023

Hi.
Think I have read on this forum that someone have done that. But you need another clutch bell housing to fit the all synchro box. A bell housing from a limosine will fit if opening the starter mounting holes. Guess yours is a 3.8 and I think the bellhousing from a 4.2 will fit. All this have to be verified, as I have not. But I do have a bellhousing fron a mk10 4.2 on the shelf. Which I have no use of.

As far as im aware the Mk2 has a long tail section so won't fit in a fhc or ots.....most Mk2s had the long overdrive box.....the non o/d gearbox has a long tail section.....Steve
