Speedo repair and calibration

Since Speedograph Richfield have ceased trading who is everyone using ? My “refurbished” Speedo has stopped working and I need it looked at hopefully with a quick turn around. I also want it calibrating to suit my 3.07 differential. There are usually one or two artisans around who do this sort of work. All help much appreciated. Thanks. Andrew

Speedy cables seems to be the other option from posts on the forum. Sad to hear of another old company finishing business with no-one interested in taking it on.

Caerbont in Wales do this kind of work, and they also manufacture all the Smiths-branded instruments as far as I am aware.

Their work has always seemed okay to me, when they have overhauled or re-calibrated speedos and rev-counters on my cars.

They did a really-convincing new dial on the Mini, with extra and re-labelled warning lights, and higher numbers in the illegal-speed range that didn’t figure on the original.

The downside is that you feel like you are dealing with gormless civil-servants with zero interest in the product, imagine Andy Rayner only in negative.
