How far are the main jets installed on a V12 carburettor with adjustable needles? Are they pressed right home or a dimension from the bridge of the carburettor.
Mine are currently pressed right home and I are having troubles adjusting the mixture as the car is running to lean at mid range, and to rich at idle

Hi Pete,
I can't tell you thr exact dimension - I am actually trying to find out myself as I rather optimistically tried to make a mini jig for my carbs when dismantling them, it proved very difficult to use. However, pushing them fully home is too high; I had a Triumph with Strombergs prior to this and that too had the jets below the bridge of the carburettor, the measurement is approximately 1.5mm, but I can't quote an exact measurement and I am looking for a set to measure. As you may see from a post I am about to write, I am having difficulty tuning my car too.
Regards,
Simon.
