OK, i have to confess that I have been busy on another project and its a while since I stripped the rear suspension down. Now I am putting it back together I have a couple of questions. if someone could guide me I would be grateful . Diff back in the cage and I am now about to fit the lower wishbones. The wishbone bracket that fits on the diff did not to my recollection have any shims behind it. Would that be normal?
second, when fitting the lower fulcrum shaft, I have bought new needle roller bearings and the new tube that fits inside these. These feel loose in the needle rollers. Would that be normal?
third, I have new rubber seals for these but have not bought new retainers or the spacer. Just wondered whether someone could let me have the fitting details for these, what you need to go where and whether there is a technique to avoid them all falling out on the ground. I have got a manual, but the exploded diagram is very small and without my missing magnifying glass I cant really see how it should all be assembled.
thanks in advacne

Here is a diagram from the Forum 'Knowledge Base' which may be of some use:

You can download it from this link and it magnifies reasonably well: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8496016/irs%20diagram.jpg

#4 IRS Rebuild
Andrew
Could I recommend the excellent publication originally by Jaguar World that covers engine rebuild, IRS and SU carbs. The IRS section is by Alan Slawson who is a leading authority on these units. Gives all the info you are currently looking for and more. Now out of print but copies can often be found on Amazon or Ebay the ISBN no is 1-873098-32-4.

Hi,
You could give this a try, it's not exactly Oscar winning stuff but it is very informative and I for one have watched it several times.
