Series 1 starter issue.

When I start my 4.2 series 1 several seconds after the engine starts (and I have released the push start button) the starter motor sounds like it tries to engage again, this happens just the once each time I start the engine. I am not sure if this is down to the ignition switch, push start button, or the starter motor, any thoughts?.
