#1 E-type spares

Post by PaulColeman » Tue Aug 28, 2012 4:58 pm

I own an early Lotus Esprit (think Bond submarine) and
spares are quite difficult to come by because they made so
few cars. However, there is a company called Lotus Bits who
stock rows and rows of second hand bits and when all else
fails they can usually supply a good second hand part.

Is there an equivalent for e-types in the UK? I need one of
the sun visor arms for a 65 FHC but the repro companies
don't seem to stock such a part, therefore second hand could
be the way to go... but form where?

I've been told the arms are from another Jag model but don't
know which one, does anybody know?

Thanks, Paul.

To be fair the visor arms are pretty uncommon - I have been looking for replacements for a while as the bases on mine have corroded on the top corners (no idea why) and a re-chrome cant replace missing metal.

If you find some in good condition I doubt that they will be very cheap. Just a heads up :)

Thanks all for the replies, some good leads for me to follow up.

Re price... it's an e-type it's going to be expensive

Cheers, Paul.
