#1 Looking for a 3.07 differential for a Series-1 E-type

Post by John G. » Thu Dec 24, 2009 2:47 am

I'm looking for a 1961-1967 3.07 limited slip differential for my 1966 2+2.

Does anyone know where I can find one at a reasonable price?
I will need to have it shipped to Canada.

Many thanks.

John

You just missed one on eBay: http://tinyurl.com/y8tfsyx

I did put a heads up in the 'Spotted and Busted' part of the Forum.

John : the crown wheel and pinion set is a Dana 44 set widely used on Jeeps and available all over N.America. You need the 43/14 set

John, check with the folks at Reider Racing (www.reiderracing.com). They show the Dana 44 gear set in 3.07:1 and the price is very reasonable. Bear in mind that any used final-drive unit will most likely need the limited-slip clutch pack replaced and may have bearing troubles as well. At the very least you'll be replacing all the seals. I'd have your existing unit overhauled by one of the reputable North American specialists--expensive going in, but you won't need to worry about it for a long time.

Planning on getting E-Type No. 3 as soon as possible....
