#1 Stone guard space

Post by the doc » Mon Jan 28, 2013 1:41 am

After getting my car home I realized no stone guard! I think it's because it won't fit as I have a Kenlow fan mounted directly in front of rad .
Question is since its impossible to measure when bonnet its closed does anyone know how close the stone guard would be to front of the rad when all is shut?

The stone guard fits quite snugly to the radiator. Certainly not much farther forward than 1 inch / 25mm, so it is the fan that is the problem

Gary

you shouldn't have a fan in front of the rad as it will restrict airflow. I would recommend removing it and replacing the original with a coolcat fan.

I think Ken Verity might have some. Failing that, go to www.coolcatcorp.com.

I have a spare stone guard in stainless steel. I've had it knocking around for ages. The mounting holes aren't drilled into it though.

No you don't Dave ;-). We are talking about the grill that fits on the bonnet in front of the rad....
