#1 Rear hatch release trim

Post by ChrisC » Tue Mar 05, 2013 10:56 pm

Chaps for those following my blog this is a repeat entry and you dont need to answer in both places :) but I need help. How on earth do you fit this piece of Chrome trim. I vaguely recall when I took it off it was a pain - but it escapes me how it goes back.

Clearly one ear of the cable release 'handle' goes through that slot - but I cant rotate the trim to get the other one through... is there a trick / knack or a large hammer I can use

Chris,

There is a definite knack to fitting the trim, which has been described by other posters, so I am not going to try to better their description. However the trim does make things difficult, especially if it has more padding, is thicker or less flexible than the original. You will probably end up pushing harder than you would like, but it will go.

Good Luck,

Simon
