Greeting from Houston TX,

I have a 1967 E-Type 2+2 and had to take the cylinder head out following a blown head gasket. As I am putting it back together, I am looking for the torque to use for the camshaft studs, i.e. the studs to which the camshaft bearing cap and the cam cover are bolted to. I have found that the tightening torque for the bearing cap nuts is 15lb.f.ft, but is this the same torque for tightening the stud itself into the cylinder head, before you even start putting back the bearing cap? I'd rather ask a silly question than crack the cylinder head!

Yes, it will be quite alright to use 15 lb-ft for the studs as well. Note that the studs are a UNC thread where they go into the head , which makes them much less likely to strip the alloy thread in the head than if they were UNF
